What it does

The bill makes it illegal to buy or sell stocks using secret facts from early access to posts. The posts come from the President, Congress members, workers, judges, or their families. Social media sites cannot sell or give special early access to these posts. Sites that break this rule must pay money equal to what they made.

Who it affects

Regular investors are protected from people who use early access to leader posts to trade unfairly. Social media sites cannot profit by selling early access to leader speech.

One thing to notice

The bill does not say if leaders themselves can trade based on their own posts.
