What it does
This bill increases Medicare reimbursement rates for remote patient monitoring (RPM) services in rural and underserved areas by setting a floor of 1.0 on geographic payment adjustments that would otherwise be lower, effective January 1, 2026. It also adds quality requirements (real-time clinician availability, EHR compatibility, data reporting) and mandates a 5-year HHS report on cost savings from RPM use. Rural providers and RPM vendors benefit from higher, more uniform payment; Medicare beneficiaries in rural areas gain better access to remote monitoring services.
