What it does

This bill transfers approximately 56,000+ acres of federal land in northern Nevada to state, county, tribal, and local entities for economic development, conservation, recreation, flood control, and fire protection. Douglas County receives ~7,777 acres free and can purchase additional land; the Washoe Tribe receives ~2,669 acres in trust; Incline Village and Carson City receive land for public purposes; and ~12,392 acres are designated as wilderness. The federal government retains mineral rights on some parcels and receives proceeds from land sales (85% to a special account, 5% to the state, 10% to the county).
