What it does
This bill makes the Saver's Match bigger. The government now matches 100% of what workers save, instead of 50%. Workers earning under $85,000 can use it, up from $41,000. Workers can put the government match into Roth accounts, which grow tax-free. The changes start in 2027.
Who it affects
Workers earning under $85,000 who save for retirement get a bigger government match. Employers and companies that run retirement plans will handle more Roth accounts.
One thing to notice
The $85,000 cap will go up with inflation over time. More workers may become eligible without Congress voting again.
