What it does

This bill creates a tax credit for people age 60 and older. They can deduct up to $10,000 per year for home changes. Changes include wheelchair ramps, grab bars, wider doorways, and chair lifts. The credit starts in 2027 and grows each year with inflation. People who earn more money get less of the credit.

Who it affects

Older adults and people with mobility disabilities can use this credit. Home modification companies and equipment makers may sell more products. More seniors can afford these changes because of the credit.

One thing to notice

The Secretary of the Treasury can decide what other home changes count for the credit. This list could grow after the bill passes.
