What it does
This bill removes rules that stopped disabled adults from working. They became disabled as children. Now they can work while getting Social Security pay. They can apply for both child pay and adult pay at the same time. They get whichever amount is bigger. Social Security gets 24 months to make these changes.
Who it affects
Disabled adults who became disabled as children can now work and get more money. They gain more money and freedom.
One thing to notice
The bill removes two barriers to work. One rule made people choose between two types of pay. Another rule said people had to keep getting pay without a break.
