What it does
The bill creates a $15 billion yearly grant program. It runs from 2027 to 2036. Power companies can bury lines, strengthen overhead lines, add monitoring gear, clear plants, and build microgrids. Power companies must pay half the cost themselves. Small power companies pay one-third. At least 40% goes to wildfire projects. At least 20% goes to small power companies.
