What it does
The MOMMIES Act lets pregnant people stay on Medicaid and CHIP. People can stay on these programs up to one year after birth. States can keep people on longer if they want. The bill adds dental care. It starts a five-year test program for maternity care homes. At least 10 states will run this test. It raises what Medicaid pays doctors for basic care. The bill directs studies on doula services and video doctor visits.
