What it does
The bill tells federal banks to give Congress records about Jeffrey Epstein and his associates. Banks have 90 days to do this. Then banks must release those records to the public within 120 days. They can hide names to protect victims. The bill tells bank leaders to check if their banks broke money laws. If they did, bank leaders can be banned, fined, or sent to the Attorney General.
Who it affects
Banks and bank leaders must turn over records and face checks. Congress gets the records first. The public sees them later.
One thing to notice
The bill makes secret bank records public, which is rare. It can punish bank leaders as people, not banks.
