What it does
This bill creates a tax credit for hospitals that switch to cleaner sleep gases. The credit pays 15% to 50% of the cost of buying cleaner gases. It pays based on how much the facility cuts pollution each year. The credit also pays up to $1,500 per machine changed to use cleaner gases. The credit ends December 31, 2029.
Who it affects
Hospitals and surgery centers can claim the credit if they switch to cleaner sleep gases. Patients benefit from lower climate impact. The credit is optional, so facilities choose whether to use it.
One thing to notice
Smaller hospitals without money to buy new machines may not be able to claim the credit. Bigger hospitals with more money can. The credit only covers sleep gases, not other big sources like power or trucks.
