What it does
This bill lets workers in hard jobs claim Social Security at age 60. They get full pay with no early-claim cuts. The Social Security Commissioner will make a list of hard jobs. Workers must work these jobs at least 8 months per year. They must earn 15 to 20 points to qualify. Qualified workers get a higher earnings exemption before pay cuts.
Who it affects
Workers in hard jobs like nursing, manufacturing, and farm work could claim pay earlier. These workers have done hard labor for many years.
One thing to notice
Once a job goes on the hard-job list, it cannot come off. The bill does not say how the government will pick which jobs count.
