What it does
The bill lets the SBA Administrator lend up to 15% more than the yearly limit. The Administrator must tell Congress 30 days before doing this. The Administrator can use this power only once per year. The 504 program helps small businesses get loans through state and local companies.
Who it affects
Small businesses and entrepreneurs can borrow more money. State and local development companies that help make these loans will have more work. Banks and lenders in the 504 program will make more loans.
One thing to notice
The bill does not require the Administrator to prove demand is too high. The Administrator only needs to decide the limit might be reached.
