H.R. 10136 — Crossett Experimental Forest Act of 2026
What it does
This bill requires the Secretary of Agriculture to transfer ownership of the Crossett Experimental Forest (a federally managed research facility in Arkansas) to the State of Arkansas if Arkansas requests it within 180 days. Arkansas must manage it as a state forest for research and education in coordination with University of Arkansas, pay all transfer costs, and allow the federal government to reclaim it if the state fails to maintain the research mission. The transfer is exempt from federal environmental review.
Quorum's transparency scan gave Crossett Experimental Forest Act of 2026 a moderate transparency flag.
