H.R. 4931 — National Park System Long-Term Lease Investment Act

Public Lands & Wildlife

What it does

This bill allows the National Park Service to extend existing commercial leases in national parks without competitive bidding, as long as the current lessee has held the lease for at least 5 years, is in compliance, and the NPS Director deems extension to be in the park's interest. It bypasses the normal regulatory requirements for lease renewal that would otherwise require public notice and competitive bidding.

Quorum's transparency scan gave National Park System Long-Term Lease Investment Act a high transparency warning.
