What it does

This bill abolishes the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE), a coordinating body that sets standards and best practices for federal inspectors general across agencies. Its functions are transferred to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the Comptroller General, and individual agency inspectors general. The bill takes effect one year after enactment and includes technical amendments to remove CIGIE references from various federal statutes.
