What it does
This bill requires the FAA to rewrite its rules within one year to permit civilian supersonic aircraft to fly faster than the speed of sound over the United States, provided they do so in a way that prevents sonic booms from reaching the ground. Currently, supersonic flight by civilian aircraft is banned; this bill would allow it under specific technical conditions.
