What it does
This bill gives the FDA authority to order the destruction of imported products that have been refused entry into the U.S. if the FDA determines they present a significant public health concern, rather than allowing them to be exported elsewhere. Importers must pay for destruction within 90 days and have a right to a hearing before the FDA before destruction occurs.
