What it does
This bill amends the Indian Health Care Improvement Act to establish a uniform 15-day notification deadline for Indian Health Service (IHS) beneficiaries to report emergency medical care received from non-IHS providers. Previously, the law applied different (unstated) notification rules to elderly or disabled Indians; this bill creates a general 15-day rule for all beneficiaries, with a carve-out allowing different rules for elderly or disabled Indians if the Secretary chooses to set them.
