H.R. 6832 — PACK Act
What it does
This bill amends the Federal Trade Commission Act to require companies to stop making false or misleading claims about whether product packaging is recyclable, compostable, or reusable. Companies making these claims must now provide clear information about where recycling or composting is actually available, back up compostable claims with scientific evidence, and obtain third-party certification. The FTC will enforce these rules and issue guidance, but cannot issue binding regulations—only non-binding guidance.
Quorum's transparency scan gave PACK Act a moderate transparency flag.
