What it does
This bill amends the Aquifer Recharge Flexibility Act to allow water rights holders to use existing pipelines, easements, and permits for aquifer recharge (storing water underground) without getting new federal approval, provided they notify the Bureau of Land Management 30 days in advance. Non-profit entities and public agencies using existing infrastructure for aquifer recharge are exempt from paying additional rent to the federal government, though for-profit entities must still pay.
