What it does
This bill extends the expiration date of certain North Atlantic right whale regulations from 2028 to 2035, giving the fishing industry (particularly lobstermen) an additional seven years before those rules take effect. The bill amends the 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act to delay implementation of whale-protection measures that were originally set to begin in 2028.
