S. 239 — Crow Revenue Act

Fossil Fuels

What it does

This bill transfers approximately 4,530 acres of federal mineral rights in Montana's Bull Mountains to the Hope Family Trust, and simultaneously transfers approximately 4,660 acres of mineral rights already owned by the Hope Family Trust to the Crow Tribe of Montana, to be held in federal trust. The Crow Tribe gains tax-exempt mineral assets and revenue-sharing rights; the Hope Family Trust receives valuable federal mineral lands in exchange for conveying their private holdings to the Tribe.

Quorum's transparency scan gave Crow Revenue Act a moderate transparency flag.
