H.R. 9500 — Tax Relief for Fraud Victims Act

Individual Income Tax

What it does

This bill allows fraud victims to deduct theft losses from their taxes and extends the time they can claim refunds. It also creates a special tax break for homeowners whose concrete foundations were damaged by pyrrhotite (a mineral that causes concrete to deteriorate), allowing them to claim losses retroactively to 2020.

Quorum's transparency scan gave Tax Relief for Fraud Victims Act a high transparency warning — and flagged a rider.
