H.R. 5345 — Improving Social Security’s Service to Victims of Identity…
What it does
This bill requires the Social Security Administration to establish a dedicated team of specially trained employees to serve as a single point of contact for people whose Social Security numbers or cards have been misused or lost. That team will track each victim's case from start to finish, coordinate across SSA departments to resolve issues quickly, and maintain continuity even as team members change. The requirement takes effect 180 days after enactment.
Quorum's transparency scan found no buried provisions in Improving Social Security’s Service to Victims of Identity Theft Act.
