S. 5026 — Childhood Diabetes Reduction Act of 2026

Public Health

What it does

This bill requires food manufacturers and online retailers to label foods high in added sugar, saturated fat, sodium, or containing high-intensity sweeteners or ultra-processed ingredients with warning labels. It also bans marketing of such 'junk foods' to children using child-appealing tactics (cartoons, celebrities, influencers, games), requires warning labels in all junk-food ads, funds NIH nutrition research, and authorizes a CDC public education campaign on healthy eating and physical activity.

Quorum's transparency scan gave Childhood Diabetes Reduction Act of 2026 a moderate transparency flag.
