What it does
Schools must get approval before buying food from other countries. Schools can only buy foreign food for up to 5% of each meal type. Schools must tell parents once a year what foreign food they bought. The government must post a public list of all approved foreign food purchases. Food companies that break Buy American rules must pay back federal money.
