What it does
The bill requires food companies to put warning labels on package fronts. These labels warn about high added sugar, sodium, or saturated fat. Companies must list the real amount of whole grains in products. They must list the real amount of fruit or vegetables too. They must say if food has artificial dyes, flavors, sweeteners, or caffeine. The government will make a public database with label information for all foods. Online stores must show the full label before people buy.
