What it does
This bill expands Medicaid to cover all children and young adults. Coverage runs from birth through age 25. Newborns born two years after the law starts are signed up automatically. Parents do not have to apply. The bill covers people without legal status under age 26. The national government pays 100% of the cost for new people. States must tell parents about sign-up. States must let them drop out if the child has other health insurance.
