What it does
The bill tells the FDA to review health machines made by Chinese firms. These machines connect to the internet. If a machine poses a risk, the FDA can order it pulled from the market. If the maker will not share security facts within 180 days, the FDA can order a recall. Patients can still get machines if there is a shortage and no other choice.

Patients gain a check: the FDA will screen health machines for hack risks before they stay in use. Makers of health machines must prove their machines are safe or face recalls. The bill does not cost patients money or stop them from getting care.
