What it does
This bill lets Congress give a gold medal to U.S. and Filipino soldiers and civilians. They fought in Bataan, Corregidor, and other Pacific places during World War II. The medal covers people from December 8, 1941, to August 15, 1945. It includes those taken as prisoners of war. The medal will be shown at the Smithsonian Institution. The U.S. Mint can make and sell bronze copies to pay costs.
