What it does

This bill sets up a Manufacturing Sovereign Wealth Fund. It has $100 billion to invest in U.S. companies. Companies that get money must keep jobs in America for 50 years. The Fund gets money from new taxes on mergers, stock trades, and corporate profits. Starting in 2032, some people get a tax credit called the Build America dividend.

Who it affects

Manufacturing companies and factory workers get affected. People who buy and sell stocks get affected. Everyday people may pay more taxes or see higher prices.

One thing to notice

Companies that take Fund money cannot move jobs overseas for 50 years. The tax credit does not start until 2032.
