What it does
The bill stops credit reporting agencies from marking federal workers as late on payments. This applies when workers are furloughed or not paid during a shutdown. Missed payments count as on-time payments for credit purposes. The bill asks private lenders to let workers skip payments and drop late fees. Lenders do not have to do this.
Who it affects
