What it does
The bill tells the Defense Department to give armed forces members a one-time raise in special pay. This raise makes up for price increases since the last raise. After that, special pay goes up every January 1st. It goes up based on whichever is bigger: price increases or basic pay raises. The bill also says reserve members can get special pay.
