What it does
The bill gives the National Park Service power to hire firms fast. They can rebuild the North Rim after the Dragon Bravo Fire. One firm running the North Rim can be hired without a bid process. This firm can work alone for up to seven years. The Secretary must say it is the only one who can do it. The Secretary must also say it is needed for safety.
Who it affects
Visitors to the North Rim will get services back faster. Taxpayers pay for the work. The firm running the North Rim gets to do the job without other firms bidding.
One thing to notice
The Secretary can pick one firm without a bid process, and no one can review that choice. The bill says the firm must report conflicts and waste. But it does not say what happens if waste is found.
