What it does
This bill tells power companies to charge 20% less to people in counties with big power plants. The plants must make at least 5 megawatts. State regulators and power companies have 1 to 2 years to decide on this rule. States that already have similar discounts do not have to follow this bill.
Who it affects
People who live in counties with large power plants get lower power bills. Other people in areas without these plants may pay more instead.
One thing to notice
The bill moves money from people without power plants to people with them. It does not say how power companies will pay for the 20% cut.
