What it does

This bill gives back money to help foreign-born people pay for health insurance. A 2025 law took away this help. The bill lets foreign-born people get the help if their income is at or below the poverty line. They cannot get Medicaid because of their status. States can raise the income limit in their Basic Health Program. The limit goes from 200% to 250% of the poverty line.

Who it affects

Foreign-born people and low-income people get help paying for health insurance again. States can choose to cover more people in their health programs.

One thing to notice

The bill restores help that a 2025 law removed. It also creates a new way for some foreign-born people to get help.
