What it does
This bill creates a new housing voucher. It is called Family Stability and Opportunity Vouchers. The vouchers help families with young children who are homeless or lack stable housing. They also help families in poor neighborhoods or at risk of losing homes. Public housing agencies get federal money to give out vouchers. Families also get help and advice to move to better neighborhoods. These neighborhoods have good schools and childcare. The bill allows up to 50,000 vouchers each year from 2027 to 2032.
Who it affects
Families with young children who are homeless or lack stable housing get help. Public housing agencies give out the vouchers and run the program. Childcare providers and home visiting services may work with families.
One thing to notice
The bill allows only 50,000 vouchers per year. The program may work differently in different places.
