What it does
This bill lets elderly people sign up for PACE any month. Before, they could only sign up at set times. It requires all states to offer PACE to seniors on Medicaid by 2027 or 2029. The bill makes it faster for PACE companies to get approval. Companies can start new sites and expand. Companies can market before final approval. States can no longer limit how many PACE companies work in their area.
Who it affects
Elderly people on Medicaid gain year-round access to PACE. Every state must now offer it. PACE companies get faster approval and fewer limits.
One thing to notice
Companies can start marketing to seniors before the government finishes checking if they follow the rules. The bill sets a 45-day clock: if the government does not say no, the company is approved.
