What it does
The bill gives Medal of Honor recipients a special military ID card. This card lets them enter any U.S. military base and the Pentagon without an escort. The bill creates a new job: the Medal of Honor Liaison. This person works for the Department of Defense and helps Medal of Honor recipients and their families. The liaison makes sure all armed forces treat them the same way.
Who it affects
Medal of Honor recipients and their families get new benefits. The Department of Defense hires a new liaison to help them.
One thing to notice
The bill gives Medal of Honor recipients unaccompanied access to the Pentagon. The bill also creates one federal job to handle Medal of Honor recipient needs across the military.
