What it does
The bill sets up a program to pay firefighters who got sick from PFAS. Firefighters or their families can get $50,000 to $250,000. The amount depends on the illness and years worked. A new PFAS Trust Fund pays for it. Money comes from a 10% tax on PFAS products and a 10% tax on PFAS lawsuit settlements.
