What it does
The bill changes federal rules for truck drivers. It says truck drivers must have an active USDOT number while driving. No company can hire a driver without an active number. If a driver's registration lapses, the Department of Transportation must turn off their number right away. If a driver skips a required update, their number turns off immediately.
