What it does
The bill lets former soldiers skip some tests to get truck driver permits faster. Former soldiers who drove military trucks can skip knowledge tests and driving tests. They can also skip tests for special cargo like fuel. They must have a clean driving record. Former soldiers have 24 months after leaving the military to use this waiver. All states must follow these new rules.
