What it does
This bill says any maker or researcher getting government money must agree to price fairly. The price cannot be higher than the median price in Canada and six other rich countries. The Secretary of Health and Human Services sets the pricing rules. The Secretary can waive them if needed. Makers must report what tests cost, how much government money they got, and yearly revenue by county.
Who it affects
Americans would pay less for drugs and medical tools. Health insurance and state Medicaid programs would pay less too. Makers that get government research money would have to follow the pricing rules.
