What it does
This bill lets Medicare pay for home care help. Help covers bathing, dressing, making meals, and medicine reminders. A doctor must say a person needs help with at least two daily tasks. Each person can get up to 20 hours per week. Medicare Part B premiums will rise to pay for this.
Who it affects
Seniors and disabled people on Medicare who need daily help will gain this new benefit. People who now pay out of pocket for home care may pay less. People already getting home care through Medicaid will not get this new benefit.
